Chesapeake Community Of Hope

Chesapeake, VA

In 2012,Core 22 was approached by the leadership of Chesapeake Community of Hope (CCOH) to design and construct a new worship center. The Church chose to renovate a 7,500 SF warehouse on Scenic Parkway. The first floor of the space consists primarily of a 225-seat multipurpose worship area which is equipped with a platform stage for service needs, brand new television sets to expand vision range, and a sound booth to optimize the audience’s worship experience. A nursery is located adjacent to the multipurpose area to be easily accessible by parents during service hours for childcare needs.

The nursery has been decorated by community members and features a one-of-a-kind tree mural with a window looking out to the lobby. The foyer of the building features a custom art piece donated to CCOHby community members, highlighting a quaint seating area location across from the reception desk. The Pastor’s office is conveniently located next to the main entrance, thereby making him available to meet with new and existing members. The second floor of Chesapeake Community of Hope’s new center consists of specially designated classrooms/multi-purpose rooms for varying age groups. The classrooms are divided into four age groups; there is a 1st grade room, a 2nd-5th grade room, and a middle/high school room. All rooms are specifically designed to optimize each age group’s experience. The middle/high school room also contains a rec area for after-school activities.
